About Burlington, CT: Small hill town bordering the Farmington River with miles of forest, watershed land, and some really great, affordable subdivisions. Burlington is an excellent choice for someone who wants affordable new/newer homes and natural beauty. The town is about 20 miles west of Hartford and it has hundreds of acres of forest (Sessions Woods) with trails. Notable in the town is the DEP Fish Hatchery, which provides or supplements the recreational fishing in ponds and streams. Also, if you are looking for a short walk on a summer day, you can park at the entrance to the Nepaug Reservoir and enjoy the beautiful scenery.
